a little weekend adventure

Get in scorching hot car. Drive to air conditioned box. Peel legs off seat. Repeat.

We had enough of that, so we took a little drive out to the Uintas with friends and spent some time in the cool(er) mountain air. I love it up there--it is so beautiful and peaceful. We like to go to a secret (but really not very secret) spot. It always seems to work out that we are pretty much the only people up there--so, we have free reign of all of the hillsides and meadows. We loved it, the dogs loved, and it was just what we needed.

a little weekend update

If only every weekend could be this sweet.

We decided to take a long weekend and visit with some dear, dear friends of ours. After a quick night in Boise with family, we met in Washington and then the boys drove down to Oregon for a day or so of climbing. My friend Laura, her little one Sierra, and I enjoyed some much needed lady time—coffee, fabric stores, shopping, and lots of meaningful conversation. Friday afternoon, we met up with the boys and drove over to McCall, Idaho. I love McCall and could spend the rest of my life calling it home. Hopefully someday. Between good meals, hikes, music, hot springs, and laughs, we were able to be reconnect.

Living far away from those you love the most is so hard, but it makes those moments together so sweet.
