a little weekend update

Even though it was a longfourdayholiday weekend, it still went by soooo fast. Probably because we were cooped up inside for most of it due to the rain, and the fact that we are married to our little home remodel project right now. But we still managed to sneak in some fun…

1.  An evening at Red Butte Gardens for one of Colby's favorites
2. An easy picnic meal
3. My sweet boy
4. The best night -- including a lightening show
5. Morning tea
6. Dogsitting this little guy, Rowdy
7. An afternoon pick-me-up of iced chai
8. My first, homegrown, sunsugar tomato (!!!)
9. Our bedroom never looked so good...
10. Taking a break

a little weekend update

If only every weekend could be this sweet.

We decided to take a long weekend and visit with some dear, dear friends of ours. After a quick night in Boise with family, we met in Washington and then the boys drove down to Oregon for a day or so of climbing. My friend Laura, her little one Sierra, and I enjoyed some much needed lady time—coffee, fabric stores, shopping, and lots of meaningful conversation. Friday afternoon, we met up with the boys and drove over to McCall, Idaho. I love McCall and could spend the rest of my life calling it home. Hopefully someday. Between good meals, hikes, music, hot springs, and laughs, we were able to be reconnect.

Living far away from those you love the most is so hard, but it makes those moments together so sweet.
