weekend away

Being in nature for a few days is one of my favorite things—coming back to reality is one of my least favorites.

This weekend was just what we needed. We found some sun, some rock, and some peace and quiet. We started our days with quick little hikes around camp—Colby examining each juniper tree with amazement, hank picking up every new and better stick he found, and me trying to collect as many rocks as possible (I have a bad habit of that). And we ended our days bundled up outside the van watching the stars while Colby played the banjo. In between all of that, we climbed, hiked, ate good food, and even saw a BASE jump happen right in front of us—that was awesome.

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.
