some quality friend time.

Our friend Mike has been in town for the week and we’ve had such a great time catching up, playing Skip-bo and drinking cocktails on the front step, making food, eating food, brewing beer, listening to music, playing music, and not sleeping. We even got in a little backcountry skiing.

Sadly, he’s leaving tomorrow. BUT, we’re having one last hoorah tonight. We’re going to have some friends over and have our first barbeque of the season. It might still be a bit chilly in the evenings, but we can’t resist.

Last night Mike made us an amazing Belgiumy Irishy dinner—complete with a beer tasting, fish and chips, and an amazing Irish whiskey chocolate cheesecake. We had so much fun. The boys let me relax and keep the dogs company and my only job was to make sure the record player always had something going.  It was such a tasty meal and a really fun evening, despite a few small oil fires.

Here’s a little peek…
