our portland adventure

We had such a great weekend in Portland--I'm not even sure how we were able to pack it all in. We ate so much good food, we saw so many friends, and we were able to fill ourselves with creative inspiration at almost every corner.

After we got into town Friday night, we decided to walk around Mississippi Avenue and find a place to eat. We grabbed a quick bite at Little Big Burger and, oh my word--that little burger was so delicious and the truffle fries were amazing. Then we headed to Amnesia Brewing down the street and met up with friends.

Mother's bistro was a favorite spot of mine when Colby lived in Portland--so Saturday morning, we had to stop by for breakfast. After we ate, we went back to my friend's house, where we were staying for the weekend. She lives off of Mississippi Avenue, and we really wanted to explore that neighborhood. We walked up and down that street--checking out all of the little shops (Paxton Gate, Pistils Nusery, and The Meadow) It was so fun. I couldn't believe how much was packed into that little area. That afternoon, we went to a birthday barbeque and met some new friends and caught up with some old ones. It was such a nice and sunny day--perfect for grilling, playing corn hole, and watching puppies wrestle in the backyard. Saturday night we went to an improv show that some friends of ours are a part of at the Curious Comedy Theater.

The rest of the weekend was spent walking around the city, taking in amazing sunsets, smelling roses at the rose garden, reading books at Powell's, eating, dodging short rain storms, afternoon drinks, shopping, sipping coffee (and tea) , and enjoying the company of friends.

We are already planning our next trip.
